About The Position

East Penn is currently seeking an Environmental Engineer who will be responsible for designing and implementing systems using environmental science principles to develop or improve employee health, reduce pollution, manage or eliminate hazards, waste treatment, site remediation, and pollution control technology across various environmental medias.

Requirements

  • 1-4 years of relevant work experience, preferred.
  • New graduates capable of demonstrating a mastery of environmental fundamentals will be considered.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, with advanced study in an environmental field is preferred.
  • Equivalent level of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Proficient understanding of environmental issues related to production facilities and manufacturing processes.
  • General knowledge of environmental requirements for other areas such as air quality and/or solid waste.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing including presentation abilities.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to analyze problems and formulate alternative/creative solutions to problems.
  • Adept in multi-tasking, prioritizing and managing time effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; can effectively listen and give details accurately.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; a team player with proven ability to work across functional areas and all levels of the organization.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Open to coaching with the ability to apply feedback.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate multiple priority projects concurrently.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participates in various investigations to collect/analyze environmental data including air, water, waste, soil samples.
  • Maintains various elements within East Penn's Air Quality, Water Quality, Solid waste Programs.
  • Evaluate potential environmental impacts of proposed projects, including assessing compliance with relevant regulations and identifying environmental/sustainable solutions/strategies.
  • Supports efforts in reducing/offsetting/eliminating carbon emission indicators throughout the corporation.
  • Assists in the implementation of programs that focus on improving the environment and EPM's ISO 14000 Environmental Management System.
  • Ensures adherence to local, state, and federal environmental regulations by monitoring activities, obtaining permits, and maintaining compliance reporting for EPM's Air, Water, and Waste programs.
  • Tracks data and organizes that data into reports that are submitted to various environmental agencies in the state and federal regulatory community.
  • Collaborates/oversees environmental projects with various internal groups to ensure proper project management including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of contractors and stakeholders.
  • Provides additional administrative and technical support as required.
