Skilled work in the enforcement of environmental or water pollution control laws and other environmental requirements mandated by state and federal agencies including the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ, etc.). Work includes conducting a range of enforcement activities related to the Stormwater, Backflow Prevention and Pretreatment sections and implementing programs and policy. Work also includes information collection, inspection, monitoring, sampling, and public education; and related work as requested.

  • Conduct enforcement activities related to Stormwater, Backflow Prevention, and Pretreatment sections.
  • Implement programs and policies mandated by environmental agencies.
  • Collect information and conduct inspections.
  • Monitor and sample water quality.
  • Educate the public on environmental compliance.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
  • Four (4) years of full-time experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment or environmental compliance inspection.
  • Current Class One (I) Wastewater Collection or Water Distribution Certification issued by the Louisiana Department of Health.
  • Current Class One (I) Wastewater Treatment or Water Treatment Certification issued by the Louisiana Department of Health.
  • Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
  • Water Supply Specialists and Backflow Assembly Tester Certifications.
