About The Position

Stinson LLP is seeking an experienced Attorney to join its Energy, Environmental, Mining, and Transportation Division in Washington, D.C. The role focuses on regulatory counseling and litigation with an emphasis on energy and environmental law, requiring strong analytical and communication skills, as well as experience working with federal agencies.

Requirements

• At least five years of regulatory counseling or litigation experience in environmental or energy law.
• Experience working with federal regulatory agencies such as the EPA or U.S. Department of Justice.
• Excellent writing and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong academic credentials and research skills.
• Active license in the applicable jurisdiction or ability to waive in.

Nice To Haves

• Federal judicial clerkship experience.
• Experience in environmental or energy administrative and/or civil litigation.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs with significant responsibility.
• Handle e-discovery and conduct factual investigations and development.
• Advise on major federal statutes such as the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and CERCLA.
• Participate in rulemaking processes and advise on permitting and enforcement processes.
• Manage teams of attorneys on litigated or regulatory matters.
• Apply creative, strategic, and analytical thinking to resolve complex legal issues.
• Build relationships with clients in the manufacturing, transportation, or mining sectors.
