We live that statement every single day. We are looking for an Environmental & Employee Safety Specialist to help support that mission. JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Environmental & Employee Safety Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring workplace safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. The Environmental & Employee Safety Specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for safety initiatives, training and incident management, helping us maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene or related field (or equivalent experience) required.
  • 2–5 years of experience in safety administration, compliance or risk management required.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in safety management systems and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred certifications: CSP, CHST and/or OSHA certifications.
  • Manufacturing safety experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain workplace safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA and other applicable regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections and risk assessments.
  • Monitoring and staying updated on safety regulations, codes and standards applicable to the industry.
  • Report workplace injuries to the insurance company and document in HRIS System (Paycom).
  • Investigate workplace incidents (and near-misses), prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for employees.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, certifications and compliance documentation.
  • Lead emergency preparedness planning and conduct drills.
  • Collaborate with HR, operations and leadership to promote a culture of safety.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with external organizations, such as government bodies, safety organizations and insurance companies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety strategies, plans and procedures and adjust as needed.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and employees on safety-related matters.
