Environmental Education Interns at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center provide environmental and conservation education through a diverse range of engaging learning experiences aligned with the Environmental Engagement Department's purpose of facilitating individuals discovering their role and responsibilities in the natural world. Interns will gain experience in: Providing interpretative, hands-on experiences related to conservation, nature, and the environment Utilizing informal education methods to educate a wide range of audiences including park visitors, families, scout groups and school groups Leading educational activities in a variety of settings including overnight programs, nature discovery areas, virtual, and traditional classrooms Discovering and enhancing an informal, interpretive education skillset Additionally, interns are trained on conducting Guided Tours that explore the Gosdin Scenic Drive and Jim Jackson Intensive Management Area as well as assisting with providing husbandry for animals at the Children's Animal Center.
