About The Position

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Engineer or Geologist for a Environmental Deputy Office Lead (Remediation) for our team in Kenova, West Virginia. The ideal candidate will have technical and project management expertise related to oil/gas and remediation projects. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related field and 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Valid driver’s license, and a Motor Vehicle Records check.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and any other assessments such as Medical surveillance.
• Sponsorship is not available, candidates must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents

Nice To Haves

• 10 years of relevant technical and project management experience related to environmental remediation, oil and gas projects, or refinery operations
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license
• Extensive knowledge of environmental remediation techniques (soil, groundwater, sediment) and regulatory requirements (RCRA, CERCLA, state and local laws).
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams and budgets.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Project Management: Lead and manage remediation, environmental assessment, and oil & gas projects from initiation to completion. Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Technical Expertise: Apply technical knowledge to address environmental challenges in remediation, groundwater contamination, soil treatment, waste management, and environmental compliance for oil and gas facilities, refineries, and industrial sites.
• Client Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, regulators, and stakeholders. Ensure excellent customer service and timely communication regarding project updates, risks, and outcomes.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards, and ensure all projects are compliant with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Office Leadership: Manage and lead a team of professionals within the local office. Provide mentorship, training, and career development support to junior engineers, geologists, and project staff.
• Business Development: Support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and assisting with proposal development, contract negotiations, and client presentations.
