About The Position

You will evaluate and validate environmental data, guide project teams, and interact directly with clients to deliver high-quality work products. You’ll also play a critical role in mentoring colleagues, enhancing technical standards, and translating complex scientific information into actionable insights. This position offers flexibility with remote or hybrid options across multiple states.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in environmental chemistry and data validation.
  • Solid environmental laboratory experience and familiarity with analytical methods.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, or local agency data validation guidelines (e.g., US EPA National Functional Guidelines).
  • Proficiency in data management and visualization tools; familiarity with EQuIS DQM is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal teams, project stakeholders, and clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results under deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members, fostering technical growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Willingness to contribute to business development efforts through client engagement and professional networking.

Responsibilities

  • Review and validate environmental analytical data to ensure it meets regulatory and methodological standards.
  • Provide scientifically defensible decisions regarding data usability across multiple projects and clients.
  • Communicate technical requirements and custom reporting needs with data analysts to generate project-specific deliverables.
  • Oversee project teams, including data analysts, technicians, and other chemists, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
  • Assist in the preparation and revision of Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs), SOPs, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with clients, laboratories, and internal teams to resolve data discrepancies and provide guidance on technical implications.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by developing automation tools and optimizing workflow efficiency.
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to technical training programs to enhance departmental competency and accuracy.
