About The Position

Denali is seeking an Environmental Coordinator to support field‑based compliance activities for our land application program across the Central U.S., with an emphasis on work performed throughout Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri. This role is heavily field‑oriented and requires significant travel to collect soil and source samples, flag buffer zones, complete site assessments, and support day‑to‑day regulatory compliance for land application operations. The Environmental Coordinator will report to the Environmental Manager for the Central Region.

Requirements

  • Outgoing, self-starter who can create value while working independently but also on a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in agricultural science, earth science, or a related environmental degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of concepts, practices, and techniques used in agricultural farming operations.
  • Knowledge of concepts related to nutrient, soil, and crop management (Nutrient Management Certification encouraged).
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean MVR.
  • Ability to travel and stay away from home for consecutive nights at least twice per month.
  • Proven success in communicating with farmers, customers, sales team, and corporate management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Excel,l and Outlook.
  • Experience with digital mapping and GIS software (or ability to learn).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of biosolids and other residuals management, processing, and operations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct frequent field work across Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri, including soil sampling, source (material) sampling, and field reconnaissance.
  • Flag and maintain buffer zones and other required setbacks to ensure ongoing compliance with state permits and nutrient management plans.
  • Support compliance for existing and new land application permits by completing sampling, documentation, and site evaluations as required across multiple states.
  • Work directly with farmers to ensure application fields meet regulatory standards and nutrient management requirements.
  • Participate in site inspections with regulatory agencies and assist in implementing any corrective actions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local agricultural communities while helping identify and secure new acreage suitable for land application.
  • Assist with load tracking and sample analysis coordination, ensuring accurate recordkeeping for compliance reporting.
  • Provide on-the-ground support to the environmental team by supplying accurate field data, observations, and regulatory information.
  • Perform additional field or administrative duties as assigned.
