About The Position

The Environmental Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental compliance programs to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves coordinating various environmental compliance activities, training, and reporting, while also supporting health and safety initiatives within the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Management, or equivalent fields.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
  • 5 - 7 years' work experience with environmental programs and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NIOSH standards and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, and other applicable database programs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in potentially stressful situations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain environmental compliance programs and policies & procedures.
  • Coordinate tracking and reporting activities for assigned environmental compliance programs including wastewater, drinking water, storm water, hazardous waste, and air.
  • Coordinate training related to environmental compliance.
  • Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies such as TCEQ and TWDB.
  • Review project documents and permits, providing recommendations on environmental impact management.
  • Complete environmental sampling as required and perform mandated inspections.
  • Track pumpage reporting and calculate monthly fee statements.
  • Maintain department filing and records.
  • Support Health & Safety department and safety programs.
  • Oversee waste disposal and treatment programs.
  • Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal.
  • Perform routine audits of environmental program requirements.
  • Review and maintain Spill Reports and file necessary reports with regulatory entities.
  • Assist with emergency response coordination.
  • Manage the company Chemical Hygiene Plan.
  • Research new technologies to enhance environmental compliance performance.
