The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Environmental Control and Thermal Analysis Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to support development, design, testing, and delivery of the Core Stage on the Space Launch System (SLS) program in Huntsville, AL.

  • Create or modify thermal math models to support system analysis
  • Run analytical cases to determine environments or temperatures of various components or structures of the SLS upper stage vehicle
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams such as Propulsion and Stress to ensure requirements are met and issues are resolved
  • Develop skills and grow into an independent contributor role with increasing technical complexity
  • Take on broader ownership of work including design build supply chain production support and customer support
  • Work on exciting challenges within a collaborative and supportive team environment
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer
  • Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, CREO) and engineering analysis tools (e.g., Thermal Analysis software such Thermal Desktop)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics
  • Experience with aerospace or defense industry standards and practices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience or course work in thermal design and analysis
  • Experience or course work with thermal design and modeling of aerospace platforms
  • Experience or course work with thermal analysis tools such as Thermal Desktop, Sinda/Fluint, SpaceClaim or similar tools
  • Experience or course work working with space programs, NASA programs preferred
