About The Position

Supports the organization in ensuring adherence to environmental laws and regulations. Responsibilities include monitoring and reporting on compliance activities, conducting environmental assessments, and assisting in policy development and implementation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Support environmental compliance programs for stormwater, groundwater, air quality, hazardous waste, and underground storage tanks through inspections, sampling, contractor oversight, and data collection. Assist with Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plan, Stormwater Management Plan, and Hazardous Communication Plan implementation including inspections, data collection, and reporting. Assist with the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) program, coordinating with department needs, performing inspections, and assisting with the audit program. Assist in environmental planning duties associated with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) including the preparation of environmental documentation, coordination with consultants and regulatory agencies (federal, state and local) and related public outreach programs. Liaise with airlines, airport tenants, government agencies, and the FAA on environmental related matters as directed. Assist in coordinating lead, mold and asbestos inspections and abatement and conduct Environmental Site Assessments for airport projects. Maintain field equipment and coordinate supply and material inventory necessary for field activities. Coordination and training associated with the environmental intern program. Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree Details: Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, Industrial Hygienist, Environmental Law, or a related field
  • Minimum Years of Direct Experience: 0-3 Details: Related experience
  • Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • Maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Airfield Driving This position requires driving on the airfield ramps.
  • Effective records management and organization.
  • Applying diverse knowledge of environmental regulations to all phases of projects.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey environmental information to various stakeholders.
  • Use of a variety of computer-based technologies including word processing, spreadsheets, dashboards, etc.
  • Technical writing.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and workgroups.
  • Federal, State and Local environmental laws and regulations, NEPA and applicable FAA orders
  • Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting environmental data
  • Environmental field sampling techniques for stormwater and groundwater
