About The Position

Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. Lead and implement EHS programs to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and permits (i.e. RCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, EPCRA, TSCA, etc.). Be the site expert in environmental compliance and company liaison during interactions with state and federal agencies. Drive a proactive safety culture through training, coaching, and employee engagement. Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to mitigate hazards. Investigate incidents and ensure timely resolution with root cause analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to lead and influence EHS initiatives in industrial or manufacturing settings, preferable in hazardous waste.
  • Strong knowledge of EPA, RCRA, OSHA and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
  • Strong technical knowledge to prepare reports, analyze data.
  • Skilled in conducting audits, training, and incident investigations.
  • Effective communicator with a collaborative and proactive approach.
  • Commitment to fostering a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Requires 1 to 5 years experience in environmental, health, safety or engineering.
