About The Position

We are currently seeking a part-time Environmental Compatibility Engineer/Scientist to work remotely, with the potential to transition into a full-time role. This position offers flexible hours (approximately 20 per week) and competitive pay ranging from $50 to $70 per hour, depending on experience. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret security clearance.

Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of three (3) years of environmental compatibility engineering experience.
  • BS in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Studies, or Environmental Law.
  • Knowledge of DoD Environmental Standards, Instructions, and Guidelines.
  • Experience implementing processes and products to meet Federal, State, and Local Environmental regulations.
  • Background with Temperature, Humidity, Vibration, Corrosion, and Chemical exposure testing.
  • Experience developing related technical instructions and reports.
  • Demonstrate ability to think independently and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active Secret level security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of National and International Environmental Regulations.
  • Experience working with Naval Shipboard and/or Aviation environments.
  • Materials Engineering background would be helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and ensure that engineering projects and products comply with environmental regulations and standards.
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and implement sustainable practices to minimize environmental footprints.
  • Collaborate with design and development teams to integrate eco-friendly solutions throughout the project lifecycle, from initial planning to final execution.
  • Monitor and analyze environmental data, prepare detailed reports and documentation to support regulatory submissions and stakeholder communications.
  • Stay abreast of environmental laws and emerging trends, driving continuous improvement and innovation in environmental compatibility practices within the organization.
