About The Position

Technicians will work under experienced environmental scientists/engineers to conduct daily recreational water quality sampling at approximately 39 marine and fresh water beaches and recreational areas in the Boston metro area, gaining practical environmental consulting field experience.

Requirements

• The ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to work while wearing PPE (personal protective equipment).
• Ability to pass annual medical clearance physicals for field activities.
• Comfortable wading into fresh and marine water bodies up to three feet (3 ft) in depth.
• Currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree program in an environmental science or engineering related field.
• Organized and professional, with good communication and writing skills.
• A valid driver’s license and safe driving record, with your own form of transportation (car, truck, or van). Mileage will be reimbursed at current General Services Administration (GSA) rate of 67 cents/mile.
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays (Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, and Labor Day), as required
• Legal U.S. citizenship, with ability to obtain and maintain state and federal security clearances
