About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking an Environmental and Sustainability Supervisor. This role will support our Eaton Fibrebond facility in Minden, LA. We are able to offer relocation assistance for qualified candidates within the United States. Reporting to the EHS Manager, this position supports the EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Team in executing site-specific and corporate EHS initiatives, including risk assessments, compliance evaluations, and data management using Eaton’s EHS platforms. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with third-party recognitions, supporting deployment of MESH (Management of Environmental, Safety, Security, and Health) element champions, and maintaining effective training programs to ensure EHS regulatory and corporate standards are consistently met. The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution OR 7 years of applicable experience within environmental work.
  • Five years of working experience in an environmental, safety, or quality role in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum five years of environmental work experience and is familiar with compliance pertaining to air, water, and hazardous waste rules and regulations.

  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Utilizes proper PPE (including protective eyewear, hearing protection, a hard hat and steel-toed footwear), safety equipment, and follows all safety procedures.
  • Ability and willingness to work outside in all weather conditions, including cold and heat.
  • Ability to work from heights.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to walk distances.
  • Ability to bend, climb and reach.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Clarity of vision, with or without corrective lenses.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences from an accredited institution.
  • Hazmat or First Responder certification.

Responsibilities

  • Leads sustainability initiatives and collaborates cross-functionally with others to reduce landfill waste, carbon footprint, and energy and water usage.
  • Determines and implements a system to measure and track carbon footprint and progress toward goals for reduction.
  • Work with multiple departments to ensure best practices are being followed, sustainability goals are being reached, and to develop content to share externally.
  • Maintains environmental wastewater and air emissions policies, investigates and problem-solves violations, and prepares reports and permit requirements.
  • Reviews site environmental permits and ensures terms and conditions are understood and complied with, ensures required documentation is maintained and required regulatory reports are submitted to the respective agency, e.g., air discharge permits, storm water discharge permits, local waste water permits, etc.
  • Manages hazardous waste identification, disposal procedures, documentation and training.
  • Performs routine inspections of facilities and operations for environmental hazards and compliance and implements solutions to reduce or eliminate the risks.
  • Interacts with OSHA, EPA and other local, State and Federal regulatory agencies.
