About The Position

The Environmental and Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will implement, oversee, and adapt policies and programs to enhance the organization's environmental and safety performance. This role ensures compliance with current and future regulations and standards, both internal and external, while specifically focusing on the Abingdon and Didcot Facilities. The EHS Manager will lead initiatives to improve EHS practices and foster a culture of safety within the organization.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of EHS experience at a management level in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in ISO 45001/18001 & 14001.
  • NEBOSH & Professional Body Membership.
  • Good communication, written, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, e.g., chemical, radiation, or controlled environments.
  • COMAH experience.
  • Working experience in project management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage EHS activities to ensure compliance with external regulations and internal policies.
  • Monitor environmental performance and identify risks or areas for improvement.
  • Conduct safety audits and on-site inspections to identify workplace hazards.
  • Investigate environmental or safety incidents and prepare reports and recommendations.
  • Implement waste management programs and develop EHS training programs.
  • Manage relationships with community or environmental stakeholders.
  • Conduct risk assessments and assist in developing appropriate risk assessments.
  • Act as the ISO management system representative for Environmental & H&S.
  • Develop and implement policies to meet established EHS targets.
  • Align EHS standards with Momentive corporate standards and assist with gap analysis.
  • Monitor and evaluate overall EHS performance and recommend changes to improve it.
  • Provide technical expertise and advice on EHS issues to managers.
  • Maintain positive relationships with local communities and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on changes in environmental regulations to keep EHS policies current.
  • Lead and develop a culture to ensure EHS strategy implementation.
  • Participate in regional best practice sharing with other site EHS leaders.
