About The Position

We are currently seeking a qualified Environmental Analyst to work in our Albany, Glens Falls, or Poughkeepsie office in our Environmental Division with the Permitting and Compliance department. The Environmental Analyst will be required to assist with technical report writing, field work (wetland and habitat surveys), environmental permit applications, and GIS mapping. Requirements

  • Minimum BS or BA in Environmental, Ecology, or Biology.
  • 3 to 8 years of experience in the environmental science field with a focus on streams, wetlands, and protected species.
  • Knowledge of New York local, state, and federal regulations as it relates to wetlands, stream and protected species.
  • Ability to complete high quality technical reports.
  • Ability to complete, local, state, and federal permit applications.
  • Ability to complete GIS mapping associated with fieldwork efforts.
  • Must be self-sufficient and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing maps and figures in ArcGIS Pro for a wide variety of projects in the permitting field.
  • Proper data management and organization is required.
  • Have a working knowledge in state and federal regulations in regard to wetlands, species, stormwater, and permits.
  • Participating in fieldwork for jurisdictional wetland surveys and Waters of the US, which would include assistance with plant identifications, soil analysis, and identification of hydrological characteristics.
  • Preparing wetland delineation reports summarizing field findings for soil type, vegetation, and hydrological characteristics.
  • Participating in fieldwork for protected species surveys and preparing technical reports for protected species.
  • Prepare technical reports and permit applications to regulatory agencies.
