Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Studies from an accredited four-year college or university
  • 2 years of entry-level experience in field of study
  • Knowledge of computer aided software (Microsoft Suite, Workday, etc.)
  • Ability to complete and maintain HAZWOPER certification with the 40-hour HAZWOPER environmental health and safety class, and annual 8-hour refresher class
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to present to Supervisors
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the integrity and completeness of all documents with strong QA/QC procedures
  • Assists in developing project document deliverable outlines and layouts, technical writing of reports, data interpretation, and development of graphical presentations in a logical and professional manner
  • Accurately records relevant laboratory sample information on chain of custody while collecting and inspecting samples for shipment and analysis
  • Collects a variety of environmental data using accepted standardized data collection methods
  • Becomes proficient in field sampling, inspections, data collection, QA/QC of data results, data reporting, synthesis and analysis
  • Becomes knowledgeable of regulatory standards in area of technical background or technical responsibility
  • Evaluates current and proposed codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines to determine the impact on client current and future programs and activities
  • Assists in developing compliance strategy(s) to meet regulatory requirements
  • Interprets data and observations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry guidelines and advises management/clientele accordingly
  • Interfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met
  • Communicates with Project Manager when potential issues are foreseen or potential issues arise that may inhibit performing tasks within the allotted schedule
  • Works effectively client in both independent and team settings
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times
  • Exercises safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs
  • Keeps up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops
  • Performs other duties as assigned
