About The Position

The Environmental Analyst I position at the Department of Fish and Game's Division of Marine Fisheries focuses on providing communications and administrative support for the Policy Program. Requirements

  • Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in environmental science, biology, chemistry, earth science, environmental health, meteorology, natural science, toxicology, or public health.
  • Ability to research and write for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Proficiency in MS-Office, social media, and photo editing software.
  • Knowledge of marine biology and New England fisheries.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations and management plans.
  • Experience with adjudicatory hearing processes.
  • Knowledge of other executive branch agencies and the state legislature.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the agency's liaison to the Commercial Fisheries Commission on Offshore Wind Energy Development.
  • Assist in the coordination, scheduling, and administration of public body meetings, including developing and tracking deliverables.
  • Prepare written briefs, summaries, and meeting minutes; assist with reimbursements and appointments; ensure compliance with the Open Meeting Law.
  • Develop, edit, compile, and disseminate issue briefs, policies, advisories, communications, and website updates.
  • Assist the Administrative Law Magistrate in presiding over adjudicatory hearings, including scheduling and organizing related documents.
  • Respond to public records requests and perform other duties as assigned.
