The Air Specialist supports air quality compliance for refinery operations subject to the Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements. This role serves as a technical resource responsible for interpreting regulations and permit conditions, maintaining effective compliance programs, and ensuring timely, accurate documentation and reporting. Working in a fast‑paced operating environment, the Air Specialist partners with cross‑functional stakeholders to identify and manage compliance risks and to support the refinery’s license to operate through strong compliance assurance and operational discipline. This is a highly visible role requiring strong regulatory judgment, refinery process awareness, and the ability to translate complex requirements into practical, executable guidance. The Air Specialist works closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Projects, Legal, and environmental colleagues to support permitting activities, compliance determinations, and effective regulatory engagement. The role also contributes to continuous improvement by strengthening processes, tools, and program documentation to improve reliability, efficiency, and sustained compliance performance.
