About The Position

According to established procedures, cleans building areas and equipment. Moves furniture, equipment and supplies. Removes and transports municipal solid waste, medical waste, and soiled linen. Performs these duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition. This is a per diem position.

Requirements

• Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
• Able to speak, read, write English preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum 6 months previous hospital housekeeping experience preferred.
• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned areas by washing walls, doors, door frames, vents, ceilings, patient televisions and windows.
• Strips and applies floor finishes and polishes floors.
• Cleans assigned areas by washing furniture, fixtures and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutions.
• Dust mops and wet mops floor areas, vacuums carpets, spot-cleans carpets, and arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion after cleaning assigned area.
• Operates various types of cleaning equipment both mechanical and electrical, i.e. buffers, wringers, scrubbers, vacuums and carpet extractors.
• Removes and collects waste from assigned area: washes waste containers.
