About The Position

Atlantic Health is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Operating Room Support Team at Overlook Medical Center. Required hours are: 9:00AM - 5:00PM, Monday thru Friday. Starting rate $18.50/hr.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
• To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Solid work history a must.
• Need to meet the fit testing requirement.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in housekeeping in either a hospital or institutional setting or a related field preferred.
• Prior Floor-care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment in cleaning all nursing units, patients' rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture etc.
• Follows the department's policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.
• Follows organization policy for HIPPA and patient confidentiality, respecting patient privacy.
• Cleans up major spills, follows hazardous spill protocols when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.
• Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
• Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations, handling, and use of bio-hazard materials.
• Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned areas including staff lounge, bathrooms, and locker rooms.
• Reports any repairs to maintenance.
• Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings.
• Handles moderately complex issues and problems and escalates more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
