About The Position

The Environment Water Resources Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintaining the City's storm water infrastructure and implementing various water quality management plans. This role involves technical and engineering work related to storm water systems, ensuring compliance with regulations, and developing capital improvement projects. The position operates under the guidance of the Director of Engineering and requires collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance the City's water resource management.

Requirements

  • Graduation from High School or GED.
  • Two years of related technical or college training in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Natural Resources, or Environmental Sciences with specialized training in storm water management.
  • Experience with AutoCAD software for mapping or information updates.
  • Two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Considerable knowledge of practices, methods, materials, and tools used for storm water facility operation and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of applicable City policies, laws, and regulations affecting Division activities.
  • Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of the City's storm water drainage system.
  • Evaluate, plan, assist, and carry out work necessary for the construction, operation, and maintenance of storm water facilities.
  • Inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with storm water regulations and specifications.
  • Plan and develop capital improvement projects related to storm water management.
  • Assist with budget development for storm water expenditures and develop operational procedures for maintenance and repair.
  • Check drainage and flow calculations and review plans for compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor and manage storm water and sanitary sewer maintenance activities.
  • Perform administrative activities including information requests and maintaining logs/records.
  • Develop and implement storm water quality programs and assist with wellhead protection programs.
  • Implement and update the City's Surface Water Management Plan and Wellhead Protection Plan.
  • Develop and implement the City's MS4 permit as required by regulations.
