A brighter future is possible with you . Job Summary We are currently seeking an Environment, Safety & Health Intern for Summer Semester 2026. This position is located 100% on-site in Columbus, Ohio. The application deadline is November 10, 2025 or until filled.

Requirements

  • Must be currently pursuing bachelor’s or master's degree in an ES&H-related field with at least 18 months of undergraduate coursework completed.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to take on technical challenges.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to wear a respirator/required PPE to enter laboratories and participate in projects as needed
  • Must be available to work 40 hours/week.
  • Applicants for this position must be a U.S. Person, as defined by U.S. export control laws.

Responsibilities

  • Update and develop content for ES&H training modules with support from and interface with ES&H Technical Trainer.
  • Conduct inspections and industrial hygiene assessments, supporting emergency exercises or planning, updating chemical inventories
  • Support environmental protection and sustainability program initiatives
  • Participate in safety reviews of proposed research projects
  • Participate in compliance inspections of laboratory and facility operations.
  • Assist ES&H professional staff in the development of departmental policies, plans and procedures.
  • Support the development and implementation of environmental and/or industrial hygiene sampling plans.
  • Participate in ES&H programmatic audits.
  • Provide input into ES&H-related technical reports.
  • Participate in technical briefings to internal project teams.
  • Contribute to the ES&H continual improvement program.
