About The Position

The Environmental (EHS) Intern will support the organization to achieve a successful environmental, health, safety, and security program. This position will review and implement procedures, guidelines, promotional activities, and ensure industrial EHS effectiveness & compliance.

Nice To Haves

Working towards a/ or having a degree in environmental engineering, environmental studies, or related field preferred.
1-3 years of EHS or related experience in manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides guidance on best practices for identifying and reducing environmental exposure.
Prepare the facility for ISO 14001 certification by reviewing and strengthening environmental management programs.
Review and maintain environmental programs to ensure ongoing compliance.
Assist with regulatory reporting to the EPA and IDEM.
Conduct annual stormwater sampling and testing.
Review RCRA regulations and verify facility compliance, with a focus on identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
Evaluate air permit compliance status while expanding oversight of RCRA requirements and hazardous waste management.
Recommend and support improvements to environmental and RCRA-related processes and procedures.
Assist with internal environmental inspections.
Collaborates with management & regulatory agencies to develop, prepare, and implement EHS policies and procedures.
Submits recommendations and implements improvements and additions to the EHS management program.
Prepares reports and general EHS information and distributes it to appropriate levels in the organization.
Assist with ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
