About The Position

Are you seeking a highly visible Environmental Health and Safety role where you can help employees lead fuller, more productive and safe work lives? This critical role is based at our Crossridge, TX location, where you will lead all aspects of the development, implementation and management of the Crossridge facility's EHS and Sustainability programs and ensuring full compliance with Emerson and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Practical knowledge of regulatory requirements as it pertains to Environmental Protection Agency, OSHA and TCEQ.
  • Validated understanding of environmental regulations and industrial hygiene standards, with effective communication skills across all organizational levels and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong analytical skills, including root cause analysis such as Ishikawa Diagram, Pareto Analysis, Change Analysis, 5 Y's, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Safety Professional.
  • HAZWOPER certification (current).
  • OSHA 30 hour in General Industry and/or Construction.
  • DOT certification (current).
  • RCRA Federal and Texas (current).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, City of Jersey Village, and Emerson Corporate ESH standards and regulations.
  • Review, update, and communicate ESH processes, policies, and training programs for plant and office personnel.
  • Handle safety software systems (Velocity, MSDS Online, Humantech, Deephow, JSA Builder) and conduct risk assessments to reduce hazards.
  • Develop and implement safety initiatives, training, and communications for OSHA and Emerson-required programs.
  • Lead all aspects of monthly safety inspections, internal audits, and resolution of action items; handle contractors for EHS, medical, workers' comp, and security.
  • Conduct industrial hygiene assessments, supervise environmental compliance (air, waste, wastewater, stormwater, EPCRA, SARA), and handle regulatory reporting.
  • Lead safety/environmental/security teams, coordinate facility maintenance needs with Operations, and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Implement and maintain safety and environmental audits, GHG emission reduction projects, and provide monthly EHS metrics reporting to Global Director.
