About The Position

The Environmental Scientist III plays a critical role in advancing environmental research and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations across diverse projects. This position involves leading complex environmental assessments, analyzing data to identify potential environmental impacts, and developing strategies to mitigate risks. The role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to promote sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. The Environmental Scientist III will also contribute to the preparation of technical reports, environmental impact statements, and permit applications. Ultimately, this position aims to support informed decision-making that balances development goals with environmental protection.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in environmental science or a closely related discipline.
  • Proven experience conducting environmental assessments and preparing regulatory documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and CERCLA.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and environmental sampling techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Environmental Scientist (CES) or Professional Geologist (PG).
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and environmental modeling software.
  • Familiarity with environmental permitting processes and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing environmental projects or teams.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed environmental site assessments and field investigations to collect and analyze soil, water, air, and biological samples.
  • Evaluate environmental data to identify trends, potential hazards, and compliance issues related to federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Develop and implement environmental monitoring programs and mitigation plans to address identified risks.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, regulatory agencies, and community representatives to ensure environmental compliance and promote sustainable project outcomes.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior environmental staff and interns.
  • Stay current with emerging environmental regulations, scientific advancements, and best practices to inform project strategies.
