About The Position

The Entry to Mid-Level Environmental/Stormwater Design Engineer position at Tetra Tech involves providing technical support within the Civil/Environmental Department, focusing on projects related to the energy industry. The role includes modeling and designing Post Construction Stormwater Management controls, as well as supporting erosion and sediment control measures for permit applications. The engineer will collaborate with various teams and interface with project managers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field of study is required.
  • Entry level to five years of related experience is appropriate.
  • Preference for candidates with course study or experience in permitting, design of erosion and sediment control, and/or stormwater management skills.
  • Experience interfacing with state and local agencies as well as community boards for project planning is beneficial.
  • Experience with design efforts to support the preparation and submission of ESCGPs; Chapter 105 GPs; JPAs; Land Development; and NPDES applications is a bonus.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Support in the modeling and design of Post Construction Stormwater Management (PCSM) controls.
  • Support the design of Erosion and Sediment control measures to support permit applications.
  • Support various phases of technical work from proposal through implementation, working with other groups within the office including administrative, CADD, GIS, wetlands, and construction.
  • Review and implement appropriate regulations associated with proposed efforts including local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Support project proposals and ensure successful completion of awarded projects in accordance with the proposal schedule and budget.
  • Work in a team-oriented atmosphere providing and taking direction on various aspects of the design and permitting process.
  • Interface with various Project Managers, Subcontractors, and, as appropriate, clients and government regulatory agencies.
