About The Position

This position provides technical support within the Civil/Environmental Department in Pittsburgh, PA. Primary activities will be to provide support for various projects with public and private clients, with focus on the energy industry. Activities will include design efforts associated with various solar projects, reclamation projects, bioenergy and natural gas gathering and transfer pipelines, pads, and compressor stations. The candidate may be requested to support other projects/programs that are also managed and supported within this department and the Pittsburgh office. Day-to-day activities will be directed by the Civil/Environmental Department Manager. This position reports to an office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but may be supported remotely or in any of our office locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field of study is required.
  • Entry level to five years of related experience is appropriate.
  • Preference will be given to candidates that have course study or experience regarding permitting, design of erosion and sediment control and/or stormwater management skills.
  • Experience in interfacing with state and local agencies as well as community boards for project planning is beneficial.
  • Experience with the design efforts to support the preparation and submission of ESCGPs; Chapter 105 GPs; JPAs; Land Development; and NPDES applications is a bonus.
  • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Support in the modeling and design of Post Construction Stormwater Management (PCSM) controls.
  • Support the design of Erosion and Sediment control measures to support permit applications.
  • Support various phases of technical work from proposal through implementation working with other groups within the office including administrative, CADD, GIS, wetlands, and construction.
  • Review and implement appropriate regulations associated with proposed efforts including local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Support project proposals and successful completion of the awarded project in accordance with the proposal schedule and budget.
  • Able to work in a team-oriented atmosphere providing and taking direction on various aspects of the design and permitting process.
  • Interface with various Project Managers, Subcontractors, and as appropriate client and government regulatory agencies.
