About The Position

As a global leader in Stainless Steel, we're seeking a dynamic Entry Quality Inspector and be part of our Quality team in Calvert, North Mobile County, Alabama. Purpose: To perform routine checks, tests, gauging and instrument inspections of materials, goods in process and finished good in Cold Roll Works       Outokumpu is the global leader in sustainable stainless steel. Additionally, Outokumpu business area Americas has a commercial office in Brazil. Job qualifications and experience requirements:   Proven experience as quality inspector for product manufacturing or relevant role Prior experience identifying damaged or defective products. Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments Knowledge use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that doesn’t meet requirements Knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies Dexterity typing skills Available for working shift schedules (nights, days and holidays)

Requirements

  • Proven experience as quality inspector for product manufacturing or relevant role
  • Prior experience identifying damaged or defective products.
  • Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
  • Knowledge use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that doesn’t meet requirements
  • Knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies
  • Dexterity typing skills
  • Available for working shift schedules (nights, days and holidays)

Responsibilities

  • By performing visual inspections for defects inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Communicates non-conforming materials orally and in writing to affected team members including machine operators and leadership
  • Documents and maintains inspection records both electronically and in writing
  • Collaborates with Quality to recognize material defects and to relate to equipment failures
  • Properly follow the Company and OSHA safety and standard operating procedures
  • Support Operations as needed to meet business objectives
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests,
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
