About The Position
VHB’s Philadelphia, PA office is looking for a talented Transportation Planner to join us! This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially experience with Word.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to independently perform multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with coworkers
- Team oriented with strong capability to work independently.
- 0-1 years of related professional experience
- Bachelor’s degree in planning, civil engineering, or related field
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Esri ArcGIS Desktop software, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online a plus
- Experience in Shapefile (SHP) and File GeoDatabase (DBF) file formats a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist in development of transportation planning studies for a multitude of transportation projects
- Assist with development of support materials for public involvement activities
- Support with authorship of project-related documentation for a range of transportation planning studies and demographic analyses
- Prepare written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
- Conduct planning assessments using analytical tools such as GIS to evaluate data, identify trends, and develop documentation to summarize results
- Perform field data collection and other on-site project support activities
- Assist in safety studies
