Position summary: Responsible for engineering traffic studies using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. Acts as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.
Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Written and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program
- 0-5 years of experience
- Proficient in traffic analysis software such as HCS and Synchro
- Familiar with Highway Capacity Manual and ITE Trip Generation Manual
Nice To Haves
- EIT or PE License
- Familiar with MUTCD, AASHTO, and Highway Safety Manual
Responsibilities
- Perform field observation and collect traffic data.
- Learn and become proficient in performing traffic analysis utilizing traffic software such as HCS and Synchro
- Conduct safety evaluations and crash assessments.
- Develop solutions to mitigate traffic deficiencies
- Assist in the preparation of conceptual layouts depicting recommended improvements
- Prepare technical memorandums and reports associated with large and medium scale traffic studies
- Learn traffic control devices design that include signing, markings, signals, lighting, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) using CAD software
- Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
- Strong technical writing and analytical skills
- Perform other related duties as assigned
