About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer in the Greater Pennsylvania area to join AECOM Transportation Department in Mechanicsburg, PA. AECOM is searching for candidates that can be creative and impactful on a wide range of projects. As an Entry-Level Structural Engineer, you will work with multi-discipline project teams in developing a range of engineering solutions from initial concepts to detailed design development and through construction. This is a diverse role that will involve your contributions and insight into the effective delivery of the department's current and future portfolio of projects.

Requirements

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related disciplines.

Nice To Haves

• Academic track with structural engineering concentration is highly desirable.
• 1-2 cycles of relevant internship experience in the execution of structural design projects is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Some production software experience including but not limited to: MicroStation, AutoCAD, MS Office, Bluebeam is highly desirable.
• Some structural analysis software experience including but not limited to: STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, CSI Bridge, and LUSAS is a plus.
• Basic familiarity and working knowledge of relevant building codes and standards including AASHTO, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318, ACI 530, NDS, etc.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Master of Science in Structural Engineering or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and strengthen analytical and design skills.
• Assist with engineering design tasks under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Prepare designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematics, and final working drawings.
• Collect, organize, and analyze data to support engineering decisions.
• Utilize engineering software to solve basic technical problems.
• Contribute to project work while adhering to established budgets and schedules.
