About The Position

Dewberry is seeking an Entry Level Structural (Bridge) Engineer to work in its Boston, MA office. The successful candidate will be part of a team designing simple and complex bridges (primarily of steel and concrete construction) and a variety of transportation related structures (retaining walls, culverts, sign structures, and other miscellaneous structures) using applicable software. The candidate will also be involved in the development of contract plans, the preparation of engineer's estimates and construction specifications, and performing construction support services. Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering is required
  • 0 - 2 years of experience in Structural Engineering
  • F.E. preferred
  • Ability to perform field inspections
  • Preference for knowledge of STAAD, MathCad, Tedds, RISA, or similar analysis programs.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office are required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for specific phases of structural project development, including inspection, analysis, design, development of contract plans, cost estimates, and technical specifications and reports.
  • Additional responsibilities can include shop drawing review, bridge/tunnel inspection team member, inspection report assembly, and building modification designs.
