About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to be based in Buffalo or Latham. This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Provides specialized technical input to studies and designs for staff's specific areas of expertise. Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others. Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables. Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects. Uses expertise in all steps of completing the discipline component of the PS&E package. Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings. Prepares technical specification sections. Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural engineering.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

  • Structural/bridge engineering coursework.
  • Relevant job experience, work or internship, is a plus.
  • EIT/FE Certification or ability to obtain prior to the start date.
  • Experience as an Intern, Co-op, or other professional development.
  • Experience or education in reinforced concrete and/or structural steel design.
  • Ability to work with a diverse team located in the Piscataway, NJ.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work.
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible, along with ability to adapt to project deadlines.
  • Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.
