We partner with DOTs, municipalities, public and private agencies to deliver safe, efficient, and future-ready transportation solutions. From roadway and bridge design to multimodal corridors, our team combines technical expertise with a proactive approach to keep people and projects moving forward. We are currently seeking a passionate and driven Entry Level Structural Bridge Engineer to join our growing team in Raleigh or Charlotte North Carolina . This is a full-time opportunity designed for a recent graduate or early-career professional who is excited to launch their engineering career in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Required: Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Structural emphasis preferred.
  • Required: 1-5 years of bridge/culvert design experience.
  • Required: Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and Manual for Bridge Evaluation.
  • Required: Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: EIT Certification
  • Preferred: Experience with CAD plan development, MicroStation/ORD.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team with structural analysis and/or design of bridges (including steel beam, prestressed concrete beam, concrete slab, pedestrian bridges, culverts, retaining walls, grade separations, stream crossings, bridge hydraulic analysis, bridge rehabilitations, bridge feasibility studies, bridge structure type studies, bridge load ratings, railroad bridges, and design-build pursuits).
  • Prepare drawings, plans, and technical specifications for bridge and roadway projects.
  • Conduct load ratings and structural evaluations of existing bridges.
  • Support field inspections and data collection efforts.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and project teams to solve engineering challenges.
  • Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal standards and regulations.
  • Contribute to project documentation, including reports, calculations, and cost estimates.
  • Other duties as assigned.
