From earthquake and seismic engineering to the latest trenchless technology methods, Kleinfelder's Geotechnical Services support the planning, engineering, and construction of complex projects, and our specialists are leading experts in their fields. Kleinfelder is currently seeking an Entry Level Staff Geotechnical Professional to join our team in either: Raleigh, North Carolina Greensboro, North Carolina Charlotte, North Carolina The right candidate for this opportunity will be self-motivated and ready to learn. In this position you will assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in execution of field investigation and potential construction oversight. This position will also assist with review and compilation of geotechnical laboratory and field-testing results, perform geotechnical analyses and report writing.

Requirements

  • Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Including Word, Excel, and Power Point preferred
  • An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors
  • This position may require 60% to 70% travel
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

Nice To Haves

  • MS Geotechnical Engineering/Geology is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in field assignments including boring layout and utility clearance, coordination with drilling contractors, supervision of drilling and geotechnical field investigations, logging of borings and test pits.
  • Assist with lab testing assignment, compilation of lab and field testing results.
  • Perform geotechnical engineering analysis under supervision including soil/rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, settlement, ground improvement, and geologic hazard evaluation.
  • Assist the Project Engineers/Managers and prepare geotechnical reports.
