The Boeing Company is looking for an Entry-Level Software Engineer - Flight Simulation to join the F/A-18 TOFT & Maintenance Trainers team located in Berkeley, Missouri. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.

  • Assists in implementing current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulations in the software engineering DevSecOps environments.
  • Gathers information to develop, document and maintain standardized, efficient processes, tools, methodologies, and performance metrics to streamline the software engineering lifecycle and enable continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of safety critical software.
  • Assists to automate, develop, monitor, improve and troubleshoot across software engineering development, tooling, testing, integration, deployment, configuration processes, and security controls.
  • Assists in implementing an environment that enables high levels of quality, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Aids and provides information to analyze, plan, and execute mitigation strategies to prevent potential security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge in Windows & Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with software lifecycle practices, agile methodology, and repositories such as JIRA and Git.
  • Experience troubleshooting system configurations, network configurations of purpose-built training/simulator devices.
  • Experience in Cyber Security.
  • Experience with cultural philosophies, practices and tools required for continuous integration and continuous delivery to deliver applications and services with increased velocity and in line with security requirements.
  • Experience with host environments, including processors, operating systems and networks.
  • Experience building, integrating and troubleshooting software components.
  • Experience with software programming languages and databases and the ability to apply to the software domain.
  • Experience with network communication concepts, principles and architectures, associated with network planning, design, integration and maintenance.
  • Experience in network transport technologies, systems, environments, services, protocols, performance monitoring and diagnostic analysis.
  • Experience with network security techniques, network management practices and principles.
  • Experience in software development and testing tools, including visual studio.
