A day in the life of a Decker Entry Level Shop Assistant/Mechanic Technician looks like: Prepping new trucks for driver assignment and current trucks for reassignments (flatbed moving to reefer and vice versa): Remove bolts, anti seize the threads and reinstall the bolts on parts that have a history of issues. Install tablets, cb’s, and event records in trucks, install toolboxes, headache racks, as well as many other miscellaneous tasks. Inspecting and completing checklists of equipment to make sure they are ready for the road. Replacing brakes and installing side kits on trailers; training provided.
