About The Position

The Phone Auditor position at Auto-Owners Insurance is an entry-level role within the Underwriting department, focused on providing financial security to individuals and businesses. The role involves determining proper classifications and premium exposure based on audit information, effectively communicating with policyholders and agents, and providing underwriting consultation. The position offers the flexibility to work from home up to three days a week after initial training.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (candidates with equivalent military, insurance, or other direct experience considered).
• Aptitude for basic math and accounting.
• Above average communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to organize and interpret policy data.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in commercial insurance with knowledge of classifications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine proper classifications, premium exposure, and scope of operations applicable to the policyholder based on the audit information obtained.
• Become familiar with premium auditing policies, procedures, and objectives to understand their meaning and use.
• Effectively communicate with policyholders, independent agents, and other employees through verbal and/or written means.
• Provide underwriting consultation on proper classification issues.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
