About The Position

BioLife is dedicated to creating meaningful part-time opportunities, with most shifts lasting between 4 to 6 hours a day, 3+ days per week, designed to fit various commitments. Availability and shift times are confirmed early in the interview process, and schedule changes are communicated in advance. Reliability during scheduled hours is highly valued, but the roles are designed with flexibility in mind. This position is ideal for those seeking extra income, valuable experience, or a flexible schedule. New hires will undergo a paid, interactive training program. In this role, you will contribute to collecting high-quality plasma for life-changing medicines, with a strong emphasis on customer service and quality. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and perform duties as a plasma donor screener and phlebotomist to support plasma center operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift
  • Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees
  • Ability to lift to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
  • Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance
  • Because of potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1), 90% of work tasks require prolonged glove wear

Nice To Haves

  • 1 or more years minimum experience working in a customer or patient facing role is helpful

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, greet and focus on donors, while ensuring the safety of donors and the team.
  • Screen new and repeat donors and take and record donor vital signs and finger stick results.
  • Use the Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation.
  • Help identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate changes to center processes using company approved procedures.
  • Be available for donors, which includes working a variety of shifts, Saturdays and Sundays, and holidays.
