About The Position

The Entry Level Phlebotomist position at BioLife Plasma Services involves collecting high-quality plasma from donors, which is essential for creating life-changing medicines. The role emphasizes customer service and quality, requiring the individual to screen donors, perform phlebotomy, and maintain accurate records while ensuring donor safety. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and reports directly to the Plasma Center Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift.
  • Experience in a customer or patient-facing role (1+ years preferred).
  • Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees.
  • Ability to lift up to 5 lbs. regularly, with occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
  • Fine motor coordination and depth perception, with the ability to hear equipment from a distance.

  • Experience in a healthcare or medical setting.
  • Knowledge of phlebotomy procedures and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and greet donors, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Screen new and repeat donors, taking and recording vital signs and finger stick results.
  • Utilize the Donor Information System to prepare donor charts and maintain accurate records.
  • Coordinate donor compensation and assist in operational improvements.
  • Work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, to support plasma center operations.
