About The Position

Take your education and expertise to the next level by joining CACI’s Network Modernization Labs team. Use your knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, load-balancing, QoS, VXLANs, and IT operations to contribute to the rapid growth of a leading-edge, vendor-agnostic, laboratory supporting multiple mission-critical programs and systems. As a Network Engineer for the NetMod Labs, you’ll work with senior engineers to architect, design, implement, and maintain the IT infrastructure supporting multiple programs, Internal Research & Development projects, and lab capabilities. Support the network team in architecting, designing, implementing, and maintaining a secure and efficient network environment. Patch servers and perform routine maintenance on typical IT equipment. Set up users in systems, inventory assets and ensure accurate record-keeping, and perform other basic IT functions. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving network-related issues. Conduct research, implement proof-of-concepts, and perform continuous development and improvement of the labs and lab infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Degree: Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field desired.
  • Experience: 0-2 years in a similar role.
  • Commensurate: High School diploma plus a minimum of 4 years performing as a Network Engineer on complex programs/organizations.
  • Specific Skills: Basic knowledge of networking principles, proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Certification(s): CompTIA A+, Net+, & Sec+ & Juniper JNCIA preferred.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with server patching and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Active security clearance

Responsibilities

  • The multi-disciplined network engineer works across wired and wireless domains.
  • Implements requirements, aids in designs and network topology artifact creation and maintenance.
  • Assists with developing designs, configurations, and implementations of data networks based on the customers’ performance and specifications.
  • Conducts continuous systems monitoring and testing.
  • Supports cyber artifacts such as topology/data flow diagrams, hardware/software lists, STIG checklists, ports/protocols/services, documentation, and POA&Ms.
  • Supports network management such as SNMP, SYSLOG, and orchestration.
  • Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
  • Ensures network solutions are in compliance with all pertinent CACI policies and established compliant IT system integrations.
  • Performs research on leading-edge technologies and capabilities.
  • Assists in troubleshooting network-related issues and post-deployment of new systems.
  • Conducts network assessments to determine the best hardware and software components for network upgrades to ensure networks are reliable, efficient, and secure.
  • Implement network designs and functionality under supervision of senior engineers.
