About The Position
Amcor is currently searching for individuals to join our Russellville production plant as packers. The packer position is responsible for the packing and wrapping of finished products, ensuring compliance with client packing specifications. This role also involves the movement of materials within the department and the proper storage or staging of materials in designated areas. The packers will work in a fast-paced environment, adhering to safety and quality standards while contributing to the overall efficiency of the production process. The shifts available for this position are 2-2-3 12-hour straight nights, from 7:50 PM to 7:50 AM, with every other weekend off. The starting pay for this role is $16.30 per hour, with an additional $0.50 night premium. As a packer, you will be expected to follow safe operating procedures and comply with all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines to maintain the highest safety standards. You will perform tasks within acceptable limits for quality, quantity, sanitation, and timeliness, paying particular attention to prevent and eliminate costly errors. Responsibilities also include checking and inspecting materials received from prior operations to verify accuracy and conformance to specifications, understanding and following basic packing instructions, creating packing documents according to client requirements, and operating a forklift to move finished materials throughout the department area. Maintaining a neat and orderly work area in accordance with 5S standards is also crucial, as is participating in on-the-job training to learn other job tasks and complying with company policies.
