First Student is seeking an Entry-Level Maintenance Technician to service the towns of Norwich, New London, Stonington, Sprague, Bozrah, and Lisbon. Requirements

  • Previous gasoline or diesel vehicle maintenance & repair experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to obtain a Valid CDL within 6 months of employment
  • Ability to utilize power and air tools as needed
  • Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.

Responsibilities

  • Performing light vehicle maintenance to First Student Standards of Excellence
  • Communicating professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors
  • Opening the fuel island duties, including fueling and checking fluids
  • Performing minor vehicle repairs
  • Moving vehicles safely between job and work area
  • Properly using state of the art paperless maintenance system
  • Actively participating in safety and educational training as required
  • Check and add fluids to vehicles as needed
  • Complete other maintenance tasks assigned by the supervisor
