Entry Level Maintenance Aide - Northland Heights
About The Position
If you’re looking to gain experience in handyman work, Northland Heights in the North Hills is hiring a Maintenance Aide to assist our Maintenance Director with facility repairs and resident transportation. The Maintenance Aide is responsible for the overall maintenance of the facility, providing residents with a well-maintained building and grounds. This includes minor repairs and upkeep throughout the building and grounds as assigned by the Maintenance Director, and assisting with resident transportation requests to provide the best service possible.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability and willingness to provide exceptional customer service.
- The ability to meet minimum physical requirements to perform job duties.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- The ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload.
Responsibilities
- Aides in driving a 14-passenger bus of residents to and from outings.
- Maintains the facility grounds and building exteriors on a daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal basis.
- Repairs or replaces defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and resemble equipment.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance to resident rooms to ensure everything is in proper working order.
- Assists in moving materials, supplies, equipment, etc.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance on laundry equipment, heating and air conditioning units, ice machines, fire extinguishers, fire/smoke alarms, lawn sprinklers, lawn equipment, and plumbing as required by the manufacturer and in accordance with the warranty specifications.
- Ensures maintenance duties are performed according to manufacturer specifications and local Health department regulations.
- Ensures that established infection control practices are maintained when performing maintenance duties.
- Follows proper techniques for mixing chemicals, cleaning disinfectants and solutions.
- Attends staff meetings and in-service education, as required.
- Assists the Maintenance Director in resolving guest complaints concerning the Maintenance department.
