About The Position

The Entry Level Machinist/Operator will engage in various basic machining operations using shop equipment and tooling to meet the manufacturing department's objectives. The role emphasizes custom parts production and rectifying nonconformities in existing parts, ensuring quality and precision in the machining process.

Requirements

• Knowledge of blueprint reading and geometric tolerances.
• Ability to use machine shop gauges and machines.
• Proficient in general math skills.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Zero to two years of related machining/operating experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with CNC machines.
• Familiarity with safety protocols in a machining environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform a variety of manual operations on machine shop equipment including lathes, cutoff saw, Bridgeport mill, etc.
• Read blueprints and drawings to determine tolerances and dimensions of machined parts.
• Set-up parts on CNC milling machine, including running and testing programs, making minor program edits, and setting tool offsets.
• Perform in-process checks to ensure parts conform to specifications.
• Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on all equipment.
• Complete required paperwork and labor reporting.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Provide assistance to other employees when needed.
