Responsibilities
- Operate loading and unloading equipment such as cranes and conveyor belts.
- Monitor the weight and balance of cargo to ensure safe loading practices.
- Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Communicate with boat captains, dock workers, and customers to coordinate loading processes.
- Secure cargo using various methods to prevent damage during transport.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Record and document the types and quantities of materials loaded and unloaded.
- Assist in the inspection of barges before and after loading operations.
- Handle hazardous materials according to safety guidelines and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the barge and dock.
