About The Position

Mikyoung Kim is an award winning international landscape architecture and urban design firm located in back bay Boston. Our research and work center on the sensory experiences that shape how we perceive and engage our environments with a particular focus on neurodiversity and restorative design. Currently, our national work includes projects in Miami, Detroit, Chicago, Houston, New York City, Minneapolis, and Boston. These projects span diverse project typologies from urban parks, healing gardens, academic and tech campuses, cultural centers and waterfront parks. Our studio is seeking a full-time designer with 0-3 years of experience with strong design and graphics skills to join our talented team. Experience with AutoCAD, the Adobe Suites, Rhino, and InDesign is required. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong design and graphic skills. Candidates must be detail-oriented, excellent communicators, and efficient collaborative team members with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Collaboration on multiple project teams, spanning a range of scales, from master planning to Design Research, planning, and Site Analysis
• Generate, model and develop creative design concepts through hand sketches, diagrams, Rhino and Lumion renderings and AutoCAD-based drawings
• Engage in design tasks in the conceptual phase of a project utilizing Rhino and the Adobe Suites
• Prepare illustrative graphics and presentation materials in the Adobe Suites and Lumion
• Participate in developing construction drawings in CAD and Rhino software
• Excellent time management, quality control, and organizational skills
• Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines on occasional nights/weekends
