About The Position

SAIC is currently seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented entry-level Java/JEE Developer to join our team in Ashburn, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career. This position is 100%25 on-site in Ashburn, VA for the first year of employment. Job Responsibilities Design and implement microservices using the Spring framework Use modern software engineering tools including Eclipse, VS Code, and Atlassian Suites for design, development, and testing the software Present the solution at formal and informal design reviews, and document the design according to the Government’s system lifecycle methodology

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related engineering field
  • Provisioning, operating, and maintaining systems running on AWS (or equivalent cloud providers) and 0-1 year of experience.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, Angular, React, React-Native, NodeJS
  • Development of microservices using Spring. Primarily Spring Boot.
  • Experience wiring up code to perform highly efficient CRUD operations on DBMS such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB with JDBC, JPA, Hibernate etc
  • Developing and debugging complex SQL queries
  • Some experience and familiarity with Unix, Linux systems and commands along with some shell scripting
  • Experience with object-oriented analysis and design techniques
  • High level of self-motivation, desire to deliver stellar solutions and willingness to work in a distributed team environment
  • Clearance – Ability to obtain and hold a public trust position and favorable suitability based on a CBP Background Investigation
  • Citizenship – Must be a US Citizen
  • Location – This position will require on-site work in Ashburn, VA 5 days per week for the first year of employment. All candidates must be within the GWA/commutable area.

Nice To Haves

  • Recent course projects, internships, or personal work showcasing full stack development skills
  • Experience working on an agile team such as Scrum
  • Experience writing code to interact with AWS services (e.g., S3, SQS, Lambda, Elasticache, MongoDB etc)
  • HTML and CSS
  • Docker, Konvoy, Kubernetes
  • Jenkins, Gitlab, Monitoring Tools
  • Master’s in computer science or related field is a plus
